Hi, I’m Kelly.

Debut author of historical fiction.

Slow reader. Bookshelf admirer. Elevator talker. Native New Orleanian.

As a writer, I aim to make you less responsible. I aim to make you spend way too much on coffee and caffeine as you stay up far past your adult bedtime indulging in irresistible books. I fantasize about you over-tipping your local barista as you order that extra shot of espresso. I aim to make you late for meetings, to dry out your contact lenses, even to cause a relationship spat or two as you insist on turning the page.

Why? Because I believe in the pure pleasure of reading. Fun and delight do not come at the expense of meaning. In fact, humor enhances meaning and vice versa.

A PINEAPPLE IN WINTER is the first novel I want people besides my husband (and my wonderful writing groups) to read.
